Dace are a slender, silvery freshwater fish belonging to the carp family (Cyprinidae). Native to the UK, they typically live in fast-flowing rivers and streams and gather in large shoals. Therefore best kept in small groups and will adapt to well oxygenated garden ponds. Dace usually feed mid water or close to the surface.
